Het beeld toont een geblinddoekte, gevleugelde figuur. De vleugel staat symbool voor de vrije geest van de mens, in staat tot grote hoogten te stijgen. Hierin worden we echter belemmerd en in het donker gehouden door de dogma’s van politiek, religie en economie, verbeeld door de blinddoek. De arm ligt beschermend over de torso terwijl de hand subtiel verwijst naar het hart, de plaats van de innerlijke wijsheid.
