In life we're all influenced and connected by the emotions and feelings of others. Even through timelines. The image shows a blindfolded winged figure. The wing symbolizes the free spirit of man, able to soar to great heights. However, in this we are hindered and kept in the dark by the dogmas of politics, religion and economics, depicted by the blindfold. The arm lies protectively over the torso while the hand subtly refers to the heart, the place of the inner wisdom.

"Removing the Blindfold"
Removing the blindfold is a sequel to “Kept in the dark” (see description above) and reflects the current situation for me. The blindfold is removed, but due to the transition from dark to light, not everything is clearly visible and our freedom is still being restrained, represented by the ropes around the wings.

Fragile creatures that refer to a wonderful world of fragile beauty that may have once been.
Driven by her empathetic soul for all that lives, Imke creates a series of beings in a fossil / skeleton-like state that evoke emotions of wonder, melancholy, protection and even sadness in the viewer. With these delicate creatures she wants to refer to the destruction of the beauty and diversity in nature that is so easily ignored. Until it's too late and only skeletons remained.
